it does make it more productive but i am a student at highschool and we can't listen to music at school so...

Yes and Yes... unless a contest is on the radio or some really good news then I am all about the radio, lol Just Jokes!! Complete silence is BORING... background noise is good! If I had to work without music or TV I think I would go insane, lol Then you would see me on the news :)

I am very lucky. I have Sirius satellite radio AND a plasma TV where I work. It definitely makes me more productive because I prefer background noise to drown out any silence.

I wrote, performed and produced a CD with 15 chemistry songs on it and I play them to my chem students during class. I think they really did better as a result of that.

Yeah, and worse than elevator music. I bring my iPod so I won't be subjected to sumblimal messages from their pumped in crap.
Hope where you work they don't do that, it's very distracting.
