Yes.

Unfortunately, this doesn't work as well as you might think. There's a *lot* of what are called 'zombie" machines out there - users who have managed one way or another (whether by not installing patches, or visiting the wrong website with a buggy version of IE, or clicking on an e-mail they shouldn't have.

And once they've gotten infected with whatever malware they've caught, the spammer uses it to send spam.

The only problem is that new machines are getting infected at the rate of about 1 million machines a *month* - so each year you'd have ot find and install blocks for 12 million more addresses. This is what is generally known as a "does not scale" solution.

A variant that *does* help somewhat is the so-called 'dynamic address list". Basically, each participating provider (such as AOL, Comcast, and so on) will publisish to the anti-spam community what address blocks they use for their dialup, DSL, and cablemodem users - and then other providers won't accept any mail from the entire address block.

u didnt clear, where u want to block spam mails, i mean, r u just a simple yahoo user, or u a network administrator... for a simple user, u cant block spam mails through IP, coz spamers doesnt use same IP always.. and mostly they use fake IPs.
But if u r an administrator, then u can block mails on your mail server, through IPs depending upon the firewall u r using, or spam filters.
but stil lit might help u to stop all spams, but might reduce it a little.
just block the IP / IP range on your network, for both port 25 and 110.
but as a user, u cant do it

specific, you may. 1st, get a SERVER point mail screening application. (i take advantage of 'mail washing device' and this is unfastened) this pre-examines your mail till now downloading on your conventional mail application. the belief being that in case you do no longer acquire mail, then the sender does not comprehend there's a guy or woman on the handle.) interior of mailwasher you may verify a field that announces 'blacklist' and this automaticly bounces the mail decrease back to the sender, permenantly. you additionally can upload an handle to 'blocked senders checklist' in outlook. pass to kit>message rules>block sender>upload then reproduction and paste the senders call, etc from the headder
