Lots.
The media shows us what they want us to see.
They edit the story to show us what they want to show us.
Media also includes advertising which influences us from what we wear to what we eat.
The news can make a story terrifying or it can be sweet.
The media whether it be television or radio has a direct impact on what you do and where you go.
Advertising is such a powerful medium it can make you buy items you do not need or want.
Watch a news item or advertisement and judge it for what it is.
They are all trying to influence you. Some are good and some are bad but the media will always influence you from the clothes you wear to the soft drinks, fast food or items you just have to have.

The routine inlife has gone so hectic that very seldom we find time to look into the details of any incident/ happening and most of our reliance for getting the news of events taking place around us is media. Media; internationally, is controlled by a group of people who have similar interests. They are also aware of the fact that 95% of the world population is dependent on them for news, as they have paucity of time.

Media, does influence us because they show us the picture of an incident from their point of view. When a glass is half filled, you can propagate it in 2 ways
(1) The glass is half full.
(2) The glass is half empty.

So when the half filled glass is propagated as half empty, one does believe that it infact is half empty.

This is how media shows us the specific angle of a happening and we ought to believe that.

Does the media *influence* us?

DOES THE MEDIA INFLUENCE US?

What do you think? In urban areas, we are constantly surrounded by images and words that scream at us, even though we may not realise its meaning at first. Learn how to analyse advertisements and next time you see an appealing ad, analyse it. The messages are often scary.

The media only influences if we take their information as gospel, but if we challenge and research the information that they provide then we can actually determine if what they are providing is actually the truth!
