I am an American who lives in China.
I am a writer and teacher. I write a lot of love poems. I have also written five novel length stories.
I teach at a Chinese university.

I am a Filipino. Member of the great Malayan race. Before the Spanish conquered the Philippines in the 1600, we already have trading contacts with our Asian neighbours, the Chinese, the Malaysians and the Indonesians, bringing with them their cultures. Our first national hero, Lapu-lapu, resisted the first Spanish colonial invaders and killed their leader Magellan who discovered the Philippines for King Philip II of Spain. Our national hero, a great Malayan genus of his time, Dr. Jose Rizal, fought for Philippine Independence using pen and paper with his great novels, 'El Filibusterismo' (The Filibusters) and 'Noli Me Tangere' (Touch Me Not). We were colonised by Spain for about 300 years, America for about 30 years and Japan for about 3 years. In spite of these aggressions, we gained independence from the U.S. on 4th of July 1946. Spain bring Christianity to us., while America gave us Education. That make us quite different in Asia. But we are still proud to be Asians.
By the way, I am an engineer by profession and I like poems that have substance-wisdom and other teachings in life.

im a 22 year old black & panamanian chick. Right now I work in a nursing home but im in school for Occupational Therapy. Im a future popstar..Hey a girl can dream right? LoL) But I do love poetry. I go to spoken word reading every month.

i am a white american and i clean apartments for a living.. i love poetry of all kinds..i really like to read poetry.. i seem to like those that rhyme best or have a good meaning to them..i like the book of proverbs and psalms in the bible...and yes it is good to have someone to share your thoughts with.. i agree with you on that..i do really love to read poems and not to many people i know even take time to write them anymore..
