You sound really sweet. I'm a parent of 6, and just hearing those words would be enough.

I use to think the same thing, until I had children of my own. My children are my presents in my life. I cannot imagine life without them. I learned just as much from them as they learned from me. Everyday with them in my life is a "present" to me. As I gave them life.. they gave me life also because life without them would be very uneventful, pointless and I would not be the caring, sensitive person I am today. So.. to answer your question... yes it would be great for a child to voice to their parents the appreciation of giving them life.. but a material present on the childs birthday to his or her parents wouldnt be as great as the three little words "I love you" in meaning. Best wishes.

You're right; parents give so much to their kids, in actions as well as presents, and sometimes they get left behind. Some kids act like it's the parents' job to provide presents. If you know what your parents like, then you can give them presents even if it's not on their BD (and sometimes unbirthday presents are the best!)
There are things you can do that don't cost money, in case you're short of it; like helping out without saying anything, or doing errands to save them time, things like that.

You said mum-here in America we say Mom-but I know the English in England say mun as well-here in America "Mum's the word" which means you are going to say nothing-just a lil oint I wanted to tell you-as you can see everybody understood you-I also thing you meant to say "I will kiss her and thank her for EVERYTHING she gave to me" any thing is any one thing unless you use it to generalize the not recieving ANYTHING at all-so it can mean something-but I know you want to kiss your Momfor everything she gave you, and Daddy too-well see she didn't give you Daddy too-but you mean Everything that Daddy gave to you too-RIGHT! OK I thing-is totally wrong-you mean-I THINK! and some thing os one word SOMETHING-Children-not chideren-I know it sounds that way but ok NOW TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION-NO absolutely not-the child only needs to give the warm affection and Love because you see my Dear-just knowing that that child is proof of your parents love for one another is a real prize for them-and children should not be taught that they should have to give things for Love-Love is a beautiful gift in and of itself-What did you get anyway! (HAHAHA)!

It is a very sweet idea, to want to celebrate your parents, on your birthday. They could have 5 children and each one would give them a gift on that special day.... Lots of gifts....
We celebrate our birthdays because we get another year older with each one, with this in mind I don't know if your parents want to be reminded each year that they gave birth to you so LONG ago!
Would you be celebrating their birthdays for them or for their parents? This could disrupt a world of people!

I think that if you are one of the people lucky enough to have loving parents and a happy home you should tell your parents everyday that you are glad they brought you into this world.

I am pleased to see that you have a true awareness that everything you have is because of your parents. This is a very sweet gesture and am sure they would be thrilled that you think of them in this way.
