No. Behavioral changes are one of the signs that show that a person is becoming addicted to alcohol. You can try to talk to the person, but the person will not get help/stop drinking until he or she is ready to get help or stop.

Is the person in question having problems at home, more stress, etc.? If so, you could try to ask the person to talk about his problems. Some people drink so that they don't have to deal with their problems, others drink to seem more social, especially if they are uncomfortable in social situations.

Also, you might suggest going out or doing something that doesn't include alcohol. Go to a movie, museum, etc. Try to get the person involved in situations that do not involve alcohol.

Good luck.

No this is unacceptable behaviour and this changes not only the behaviour of the person in question but also the people around him/her.
If you are one of these persons and you care anything for the other/s involved then you must say something immideatly.
I myself watched a friend of mine drink himself to the point of oblivion and i tried to help him out and thankfully he came out of it and is ok now

Drinking alcohol every night isn't good. It indicates a problem. The problem of the person. Why does he/she drink?

It's acceptable, professionaly speaking, to take a glass of wine or beer sometimes in a while, but it doesn't sound really good if someone doesn't know why he/she drinks and does that oftenly, if he/she tries to "solve" some problems (actually to avoid them!) and if he/she gets drunk and changes his/her behaiviour. It's time to take some steps toward some professional.

no it is not.... and they think it is helping them and that they are having fun...well drinking is really a waste of money...and another point is that it is depressing them as they go along...but they think they are having fun and enjoying theirself...i know because i use to do this.. i got so sick of drinking and all the money a person can waste...i am much happier now that i do not drink and i have money to spend on things i need... and some of the people you meet at bars and things are really not true friends...i drink a fuzzy navel about once a month and i only drink a couple of them with firends...you feel so much better to with the alcohol out of your system...

No. If its changing a persons personality it could be making them act foolish or angry. Drinking should be an occasional treat that should be enjoyed.
