Women get an engagement ring and a wedding band, while men only get the wedding band. So do you women wear them both or just one?

The engagement ring is intent to marry. This custom came from the times England and France needed to call a halt to hostilities. A ring was sent from a royal male on one side to a royal female on the other side.

The other culture link from the old country is that when the engagement ring was given, the lady's father received it for his daughter. This would indicate how big the dowry would be.

For a marriage, there is only one ring for each. This band of gold is for a marriage of purity.

I wore both but my engagement ring had one of the prongs to come loose and the diamond came out last Winter. Since then I have been wearing my band only.

Please note: I did not ask for either, my husband willing gave these to me. If he wanted 2 rings, he would have gotten 2 rings.

I don't know very many men at all that wear jewerly other than wedding ring and a watch anyway.

My husband got 2 rings, just like me. Only mine cost about $1000 extra. I gave my husband an "engagement" ring. It was a solid gold band. His wedding ring was much fancier. I got 2 engagement rings and a wedding band. Oh, the Promise Ring. . .don't forget the promise ring. I got one. So, really, girls get, like, 3 rings: Promise ring, engagement ring, and wedding band. We were in high school when we got engaged, so my engagement ring was fairly affordable. After school, we picked out my bridal set-which took us a while to pay off.

I don't wear any rings right now because I'm 8 1/2 months pregnant and swollen, but my husband wears both his rings.

whilst i'm curious as to why the guy did not spend greater if he might desire to you circulate away out lots to make a determination. what proportion jewelry did the guy verify out? Does the hoop carry some magnitude? (ex, a particular layout) What stone grew to become into used? What did the guy use something of the money on? How did he advise? finding basically on the value and money its not user-friendly to make certain if the guy is affordable. Scene #a million: the guy spends hours with a particular ring in ideas, is going to many distinctive shops or perhaps looks on line. finally shows the single he's been finding for and each thing is appropriate approximately it. Even gets an inscription of something romantic. something of the money is going in the direction of their nest egg for a clean residing house or something. Scene #2: guy is going right into a keep, says 'unwell take that one' and then will pay and palms the girl the hoop. Now, to the reality that if the girl is a gold digger or not. I might desire to assert sure in this. to basically say 'no' reason the hoop costed one hundred fifty is a gold digger. If the girl in simple terms had to attend longer or wasn't for advantageous then that would desire to be yet another subject.

some women would wear them both. But usually after the wedding, they'd keep the engagement ring in a safe place.

Of course! The engagement ring is a symbol of the upcoming, and promise of the nuptials. The band is to signify the marriage itself. If you think it's archaic, why not have an engagement ring for yourself? You could use a diamond, or another stone to signify something special. Check with a good jeweler to have something special made. That way, you both win! :)

Well.. I guess if you marry the right one.. you can also have an engagement ring too if thats what you want, just tell him. And for your statistics.. I got one ring (a band) which I do not wear due to allergies.
