I refuse to answer questions from people that have no apprecation for fluffy towels, you are off my Christmas list!
On the other hand in an attempt to gain 10 more points, this is a very valid question and yes I do spend a lot of time on here, I'm retired, and very very bored, I get a lot of laughs from here, I'm not really a 'sad' person (or I like to think I'm not) , but I could always do with the additional 10 points so I can ask more stupid questions, and get lots of stupid answers in return!!

Hmmm... right! I am not alone in thinking so!
All I can guess is that they might be experts in their field and keep answering (and frequently answering in the "best" way because of their expertise)... I understand that yahoo answers was unveiled in December 2005, so that makes it around 8 months. Let us do a conservative estimate. Suppose a person has been answering here for 6 months only on weekdays, 10 questions per day totaling to approx. 6X20X10 = 1200 ->2400 points. Let us assume at an average one answer per day was chosen best. That adds up to 1200 points. That makes it 100 points "starting bonus" + 2400 + 1200 = 3700. For the more aggressive participant who has some spare time or have very good expertise in a field, like students, scientists, etc., the figure can me much higher. Plus, there might be lots of "bonus" points on entering each level. I don't yet know as I am still at level 1. Or, very less likely but the point calculation system might be erroneous (I saw at least one statement saying how the owner does not know how (s)he got so many points).

I used to be. I maxed out on all my answers each time, but now I am going back to work and only do 10 a day. I am trying to get to level 5 , so I can ask unlimited questions. The answers have helped me with alot of car, and other things that saved me lots of money. I love this place.

I'm curious of what's waiting at the top...

S, I'm gonna keep on answering. Sure I go to work and have 2 kids to take care of but I still have time for YA.

I just can't stand kids under 16 acting like adults in YA - doesn't this bug anyone else?

I must admit I am hooked. I bore my children with the details of my account. I just started getting best answers. We had to discuss them over dinner. They understand because they have video games. I have Yahoo, answers.

99% of the answers aren't answers at all. I guess you could build up a lot pof points just by giving a quick non-answer rather than thinking and answering clearly.
