Good luck and bad luck are all relative to what you believe. Just because that tsunami came in and killed thousands of people the same you did ... does that mean that what you did caused bad luck? No. Things happen in their own time for their own reasons and I don't think those reasons have anything to do with an inanimate object.

On the other hand, if you feel that it is bad luck, then don't buy it. You could inadvertantly cause something completely different to happen that you could look back on and blame it on the fact you bought a watch.

Did anything happen after he gave you the watch to make you think you had bad luck? Did anything out of the ordinary happen then? If not then you had absolutely nothing to worry about. I've never heard that one before, and even if over in bulgaria it is bad luck, who says it's bad luck anywhere else? Sometimes when people say something is bad luck, they end up so freaked out that they end up causing the bad things to happen and then blame it on some old superstition.

Maybe. I was buying a girlfriend a rolex one christmas as a surprise. Just before I picked it up, she broke up with me. I selected a lovely swarovski crystal piece as a going away present with the nonrefundable deposit on the watch, but saved a bundle of cash. Not the best holiday, but I did learn before I lost too much.

I only lost a few hundred bucks worth of deposit, and she put her next boyfriend in the hospital when she accurately threw the crystal piece at his head. So maybe it is good luck.

I've heard that it's bad luck to make clothes for your boyfriend as they begin to feel you're too possessive, as if you're assuming spousal-type rights over them. Traditionally it's bad luck to give a knife, scissors etc. as a gift because it will "cut" your love, so you should have the person "buy" it off you with a penny.

I don't know why you would think that, but ironically I bought my last girlfriend a very nice watch for Christmas and she broke my heart a couple months later.

No of course it isn't. I have a young friend whose boyfriend has just bought her a Gucci watch. She doesn't think it was bad luck!

I really doubt that you broke up with your friend because of that watch !!! Actually a watch is a perfect gift .

in the eastern culture-chinese predominantly, believe that it its bad luck for you to buy a clock for a person-not a watch. the reason being in chinese clock means "choong" and it associates with sending someone away-like a funeral. in short it means death. hope you find this helpful
