The Woodside Hotel in Musselburgh. I am from that town. It is a nice place. beer is ok. It is across the road from the oldest golf course in the world and a racetrack (horses) Their is a great ice cream shop on the high street called Lucas, and it is only half an hour on the bus into Edinburgh. The area of town it is in is quiet and you can go for a good walk over the golfcourse to the Lagoons, and along the sea wall. Plus behind it is a sports field where you can walk through the woods. Don't get up to funny business in there as my dad will call the police as he is the groundsman. Hope you pick there because I am living away from home now and I miss the old town and would like others to apprecfiate it as I do.

I believe that the first Saturday in September is the day for the Braemar Games. Braemar is about 90 miles away from Edinburgh - but even if you don't watch the games, the scenery is worth the trip! Try contacting the local tourist board for places to stay - we stayed with friends, so can't suggest anything from that point of view.

the lindsay guest house is about a mile from princes street and is family run bed and breaksfast within a detached victorian villa - its very nice and the prices are about 40 per person per night. If u phone Edinburgh and Lothian Tourist Board they will be able to help u find exactly what u are looking for.
Enjoy your anniversary - and i recommend a ceilidh!

first of all the different solutions are too basic. My anniversary is in January and we continually circulate someplace. that's your first anniversary so quite make an effect via making it very own. I additionally like to save yet for particular issues. My husband and that i like to get an vintage each and every anniversary-we the two savour it. we seek for the out of the conventional like license plates for the years we've been born or the year we graduated-one in all our loos is adorned paintings deco/one is modern paintings, and so on. You get the belief. locate out what she likes to save for and plan the trip around that. you do no longer could circulate far to locate large merchants. How approximately instead of a hotel, locate a large mattress & Breakfast with a honeymoon candy. as quickly as I plan our anniversary trip, i seek for a community that we are able to the two locate exciting places to work out/issues to do. it will take some workstation time on your section yet i be attentive to it will be quite worth your attempt! good success with it & happy Anniversary!

Good Music Venues: Bannermans, Subway Cowgate and Liquid Rooms all have regular/cheap bands playing.

Stay in one of Scotland's Top Hostels, and take her on a tour round Scotland....HIGHLY recommended.

i was in the main tourist office in edinburgh on thursday and overheard a lady ask for a brochure of local b&b's, and lo and behold, she was given one. i'm sure if you email or phone them they could send you one out. and don't listen to anyone's negative comments, edinburgh is gorgeous with lots to do, maybe i'm biased because i live here, but the city really is great.
