Specifically, Poweredge 1400SC, my old Win2K Adv. Server install had problems and I used a Dell openmanage server assistant (DOSA) to reinstall but checked the "format" option when I did. I had important files on the boot partition. Config is RAID four disk array.

Any good utilities for restore (similar to the ancient Undelete or Norton Unerase) on an NTFS partition?

Yes, I've been in the business for decades, but got caught without a backup.. I guess computer analysts make the worst users sometimes just like doctors make for bad patients.

thanks!

Well, there are some NTFS utilities out there that undelete, but I am not sure they will work with the drive set-up you have. Obviously you should be able to google for that as well as I can. "format" does not destroy data in NTFS any more that it does in FAT. I assume you know enough not to use those drives for ANYTHING in the mean time. It may come down to how much you are willing to pay to recover that data. Sorry.
