I couldn't agree more. Most programs are thrashy. Whats more disturbing are the countless ads. Did you observe that the sound volume is increased during ads???? I don't think anyone has the right to 'enter your home' to adjust your TV volume. I've been fighting back on that by pressing the mute button during ads and loving the peace that brings. I also record most programs and edit off the ads before watching the programs. The only channels I find worth watching are the Hallmark and discovery channels. I like hallmark because the programs are quality and the adds there do not interrupt the movie too much. Some movies there only have 2 sets of ads only per movie.
On the local tv - I have given up on that. As much as I want to see local Tv programs do well, its pathetc to see us mimic western programs so much. Our 'reality shows have all been fashioned after the west. I have nothing against the west, but why can't we be original. Do we lack creativity that we must copy others. We seem to have just about every possible version of a Western initiative except for a Western itself (Cowboys that is) And don't get me started on the personalities on tv who call themselves celebrities. When can we have new faces??? Enough already with the familiar faces and their overacting. Get off the stage give the new ones a chance!!!
Honestly I don't expect the local scene to change. In my book TV programs leave so much to be desired especially local TV.
And I thought I was the only one who felt that way.

No. There are also good shows. If you think the show is not informative, educational or wholesome then turn to another channel. We cannot do anything about shows that are rubbish and shows that pollutes the mind. What we can do is not to watch it. Correct me if I am wrong on this, but I think the rating of the show depends on the audience rating which depends also on the advertising that are there. So the best way to kill a rubbish show is not to support by not watching it.

Interstate commerce is interstate commerce. If a farmer grows better of a crop than the regulation enables, even if he's not sending that extra out of state, it ought to have an outcome on interstate commerce, as those farmers who do this gained't ought to purchase that volume by the flow of commerce (Wickard is a common case in Con regulation. with suggestions from the way, it develop into wheat, no longer corn). there is somewhat no way you could say that this isn't splendid. yet you somewhat can't follow this reasoning to lots of the belongings you pronounced. How can your weight have any pertaining to interstate commerce? How can your television gazing be managed, no longer to educate connect interstate commerce? What you've done is crawled a techniques out onto a limb, and that is cracking at the back of you. yet possibly maximum heavily, well-being care is on no account structure or variety interstate commerce.

Seriously the media knows that the whole world loves the entertainment world.
In my country, reality singing shows are growing everywhere like mushrooms...I can't even stand it..
Its like they're looking for singers instead rather than looking for a poor, educated, brilliant people who are not capable of furthering their studies and being left out by other people WHO only prefers pretty, good looking entertainment people with or without talents.
Or how about those students in the uni, where they soon will be the leaders of my country, how can they put their mind in good use if EVERYBODY keeps supporting these singing sensations that only keeps getting richer instantly...
I deeply feel sorry for them because even if they've graduated, they are on their own to find their own path to succeed without anybody to help them....
The media and my governments keep supporting these reality TV shows and are proud of it but i can see my country now is lack of people with awareness to the world, politics, religions and national issues..All they can think of is ENTERTAINMENT all year round..
Entertainment is good but too much of it spells DISASTER.

Well, the only programs I watch are the ones on History channel, Discovery channel, PBS, etc. Most of the other stuff is crap, especially reality shows. I also like to watch wrestling because I'm a gay southern redneck.

I don't watch much tv and I don't even have cable. I occasionally watch pbs and 3abn, but it's only for more insight on my knowledge of science and spirituality. Tv show repeat the same stuff over and over like the fact that the good guys always win and stuff like that. To keep me away from an addictive tv show, I often look for episode spoilers online. I usually get over it and move on.

yeah, alot of it is junk now. what can we do about it? don't watch it. if the company sees that the ratings are going down then they'll change it or take it off and put something new. if you think its junk why are you watching? doesn't make sense to me, i'm just asking
