Memory as in hard disk memory or ram? If HD, then do what I've done for the last 2 years. Burn those DVD! (or CDs). If RAM, then increase your virtual memory (which then means you need to have that much space on your HD, so see above), and if both and unwilling to buy new computer/upgrade until end of year's Vista or next year's DDR3 release, then just be patient and play on other people's computers.

1) Delete unwanted program and items to free up more memory.
2) Backup unused important data into CD-rom or DVD-rom.
3) Defragment the hard disk regularly.

Which memory are you talking about? Virtual Memory or RAM?
If your RAM is low, you need to get higher capacity memory sticks.
If your virtual memory is low, try cleaning up your harddrive, do a disc defragmentation. Just basic maintenance really.

Delete programs and files that you don't use; they use up memory. Also try putting all of your pictures on cds and all of your songs save them as mp3s on cds.

Why don't you buy it more memory? That is a hardware item and doesn't really cost that much.
