Why not both? Start your own business which is scientific in nature and you can be a scientist there.

Just an additional comment.

I think you can also consult the people around you as well. Because by interacting with them, you can get more personalised insights, in addition to advice you have gotten from the rest of us here.

Ask your friends, seniors and relatives who are working as a scientist/business woman(or man) about these two occupations. Ask them what do they do in their daily routine, and then discuss with them (if you are comfortable) to see if you prefer to be a scientist or a business woman. These 2 occupation have very different nature and I would advice you to decide on either one early. Because to get a diploma or degree cert for either one requires commitment and time, and you have to decide before you choose your course.

Ask your best friends this question which you have posted to see what they tell you. They may give you interesting insight about you that you didn't expect in the first place!

All the best, and hope you will find your ideal future job! Good Luck! ;)

Those are very diversified fields.

My career was business.
That entails contact with people, every moment of ones life.
If people are an important part of ones life, it's a good choice.

I imagine that a scientist may work alone a great deal, and even in a lab, with other scientists, there may be minimal oral interaction. I only say that from my experience in chemistry at school.

Just as business may demand time away from family, so too can science take away from family, by the mind continuously in deep thought.

One may actually earn more money in a successful business than a scientist.
A scientist may offer much more to mankind, possibly a cure for some dreadful disease. That in itself may be worth more than all the money in another field.

You can do both. You can work on the business end of a scientific company. I work as a chemist and my director is a scientist who has an MBA and she makes bank.

It is not needed to decide since you can try both and then pick one or keep applying both. I in particular believe that science oriented professionals need more businesss skills since finding funding for research is key to continue this line of work...Also developing technology in any way through research funded by the small busines advancement grants will allow you to keep researching and using your findings to make more out of your company...
I'm a Bio-tech. Eng + an entrepreneur and I love it.

Be a scientist, the world needs more research into the hidden mysteries of science.
There are plenty of businesswomen.. and you can do this as a hobby or when you invent something new and want to start marketing it.
