thanks

I dont how much the distance coz it is a very huge value .But the distance between the sun and earth is calculated using Lasers of very high frequency and they are used to determine the distance very accurately .The time taken by the laser beam to return back to earth from the Surface of the Sun is noted and applied in formulae and it is found precisely.

To use the speed of light to calculate our distance from the Sun, you would first have to know when the light actually left the Sun - (which we don't since we dont know how far away the Sun is....)

And you can't bounce laser light off the Sun.

You can however, bounce microwaves off planets and scientists did this to measure the distance to Venus. Once they had this distance they could use trigonometry to calculate the distance from the Sun.

The accepted value is 149,597,892 kilometers, though this changes slightly with our orbit.

the distance of sun or any astronomical body is measured by speed of light. it takes 8 minutes for light to travel from sun to earth. therefore with the speed of light being 3 X 10 raised to the power of 8 mtrs /sec, the distance would be 8 X 60 X 3 X 10raised to the power of 8 mtrs. which is = to 144000000 kms

The speed of light is 400000km per second. It takes sunlight eight minutes to reach the earth after sunrise. Now you can calculate the distance?NO 400000x60x8KMs=? =192ooooookm

The distance between the two objects is approximately 93 million miles. I'm not sure how it is calculated.

about 93 million miles, but it changes because the orbit is elliptical. They measure it with the worlds longest piece of bubble tape.
