What's FTR???

I'm 37 and wouldn't trade it for the world. I'm much more secure with myself, I know myself much more than at 21, I have gained oodles of wisdom, I am much more patient, I am much more insightful, not shallow, I can appreciate my elders much more, the list goes on and on. Oh, and I can support myself just fine. Oh yes, and I love the respect that I get too.

Believe it or not, I love my gray hairs and fine lines. Fine lines at the corners of my eyes when I smile are beautiful, they accent the smile. : ^ )

I am 40 and male.

For me the best thing about getting older is being able to see how little we really know and being in awe of the world in which we live, every day I see or hear something new and realise that even if I live to be 200,I will never know enough.
There are more questions than answers but I think if I had to state in one sentence what I like most about getting older it is that every day I wake up is a bonus and a new opportunity to learn just a little more about life and what makes it so worth living .

I dont like getting older. I wish I could go back to my college years to do some things differently. I am a lesbian, and I wish I would have come out of the closet sooner, and made myself happier because of doing so. Getting older just reminds me of how life is too short, and that I am getting one step closer to old age and death

I honestly wouldn't want to swap my age - maybe my body, but not my experiences!
I've come a long way - learnt so much! I wouldn't want to be that naive ignorant judgemental person I was 30 years ago!
I've grown in wisdom, patience, kindness, tolerance. I've seen it all - learnt to think in 3-D.
And I'm 47 and there's still so much more to learn! Believe it or not, a very exciting challenge. If only it wasn't another year closer to my death.

You realize what a dumbass you were 5 years ago. Every 5 years you think the same thing. Way too old. I was around when the first one-celled protozoans were running around.

I like being able to toss my saggy breasts over my shoulders. Just joking. I like getting older because the older you get the more everything starts to make some sense.

Independence.

I'd hate to be younger.

Didn't like being a child much, either.

Not having to answer to anyone else is so liberating.

How can I ever give this up, to have a relationship with anyone.

Long distance romance, anyone?

Being able to make the old cheesey joke "I'm 21 again" every birthday to get back at those who have said it to you for many years. Have been using it for 4 years now. hehe.
