There are serious doubts about the validity of IQ tests. It depends on the type of IQ test. For instance Mega IQ and Titan IQ are very diffuclt. I think the highest in Ttitan is 45, with women usually doing better than men. There is also Verbal IQ test, etc. Make sure you and the test are not biased by preconcieved ideas, like ideology, religion, etc.

But the higher reported score is relative to when the test is been carried out. The Flynn effect tells us that IQ score go up as time passes for the same population.
Wilipedia has actually a very good article on IQ, with discussions and statistics.

There is no THEORETICAL maximum, except for the number of questions on an intelligence test.

I.Q. is determined by dividing one's chronological age into one's "metal age," as determined by one's score on a standardized test and then multiplying by 100.

Therefore, a 10 year old with a "mental age" of 10 has an I.Q. of 100, the theoretical national average.

[10/10=1*100=100]

But, if the same child had a "mental age" of 15, the I.Q. would be 150 (borderline genius).

[15/10=1.5*100=150]

The highest recorded score on a standardized test was earned by Marilyn vos Savant, who writes a weekly column for Parade Magazine, which is included in many Sunday newspapers. Her score was 210.
