Adult students prefer instructors that know the subject matter and can demonstrate their knowledge with in depth discussions with their students.
SEX is never the issue. There are professional requirements that are placed on the instructor.
If a female instructor comes into her class dressed half naked, skirt painted on and 12 inches above her knees, she has loss the class before she ever opens her mouth, and most likely, she will not regain the instructor student relationship that is conducive to learning.
A male instructor dressed as though he just came off of the beach and has slept there for a week, will also lose his class upon entering the room.
He will have Tobe able to demonstrate a really profound depth of knowledge concerning the subject matter in order to regain the class respect.

Not necessarily. What matters is for the teacher to have good concept of teaching skills and impact good knowledge. Statistics generally shows that you have a higher percentage of male teachers than Female. I think adult students prefer to learn regardless of the sex dishing out the knowledge!

That's an excellent question! I would love to hear about a large survey to see. From my own experience, I have to say the best teachers have been both men and women... but I guess I would prefer whichever sex was really the strongest authority in the subject matter.
