No one deserves sympathy. Sympathy is not part of the justice system, it is not something that can be allocated. Sympathy is something that we give an individual of our own will whether or not they want it.
So the short answer, No, they do not DESERVE it.
The long answer, if a serial killer were the same as somone who was not a serial killer, they wouldn't be one. Obviously there is something different (wrong) with them compared to the norm of society. If you sympathize with those with mental illnesses then why not a serial killer? Sympathizing does not mean a lesser sentance, it does not mean a get out of jail free card, all it means is that one human has a little compassion for another human who is not quite right.

Most serial killers have psychological problems, i.e mental disease. Like someone in an answer above me said, they are not capable of empathy.
Whether they deserve sympathy like any other diseased person, thats a hard question.

Serial killers deserve something but it ain't sympathy. There is good and evil in all of us and some of us unfortunately choose evil.

There are mixed ipinions i wont judge them as i ask that they dont judge me.
Killers should have there rights removed and not lagginng onto the public's money Thus causing our rates and taxes to rise Not to forget the daim Banana's Prices, Fnn Shops!
But on the other hand due to the judgements that have been swarn buy a bible that "God" Has susposably made I see that conviction of death is the Most hainus crime no matter if they killed before! IM NOT RELIGIOUS So i dotn believe that they shoudl ahve the chance to do it in aney shape or form!

First, we have to understand that even a serial killer is also a human. That there are reasons that drove him to become one. But we also have to consider the seriousness of the crime he had committed and the effect of such to the bereived families of his/her victims who seeks justice. What we can offer, I believe is a prayer, that God forgive him to what he had done and the soul of his victims, so that they may rest in eternal peace. But, no to open sympathy.

I think they deserve sympathy in the sense that most of them are incapable of empathy, and that's probably a lousy way to live.
But I don't believe that sympathy should translate into leniency when punishing them for their crimes. Most of them are fully aware that they are doing wrong, and choose to do it anyway.

Serial killers, after being convicted and sentenced to death, should be turned over to their victims' families, and executed as these families see fit, without regard for humane methods. (Do serial killers kill humanely? No.) I rest my case.

If by sympathy you mean a tree and a rope, why yes. If not then here's screwdriver to screw your head back on right.

They lose that as soon as they kill. I know some of these people have had hard lives, but we can't let that be an excuse to kill random strangers. After all, a lot of people have had hard lives and they don't kill people.
