What happens if i get a 12 oz bottle fill it about 1/2 or 1/3 with chlorine and mix about 1/4 the bottle with alcohal, then shake it up rapidly with the cap on?

first don't shake it, first do it in a metal contain and leave. Look at killsometime.com for an example of what happens besides to tell you exactly what would happen what is the percentage of chloride (or is it chlorine bleach) and what kind of alchohol, iso, etho, metho, etc. etc. etc.

Assuming the chlorine gas hasn't killed you {which it just might}, you'll probably end up with a chloro-alkane {which is what I think you're trying to make}.

I don't know if the reaction will take place at STP; it might need bigger pressure.

If there is a gas product, the bottle will probably explode.

The chlorine will probably attack the alcohol, as it is highly reactive. Possible end products are ethyl chloride or hydrogen chloride. If the reaction is highly exothermic, as is likely, the bottle will probably explode.
