The Bible gives insufficient information. This is a question that dogged me as well. I studied the Islamic texts as well which also speak about Adam and Eve quite comprehensively. The conclusion I came to was that God's laws have two categories:The permanent ones which remain unchanged and the temporary ones which change with the society and culture of every age. Initially, to ensure the proliferation of the human race the rule was that one could not marry their fraternal twins. Some Muslim historians do quote that Adam and Eve gave birth to twins each time for the first two times. Thus Cain and Abel each had a twin sister. They were married to the twin of each other. And this is how the human race flourished. Once the population had increased it was forbidden to marry one's own sister.

Adam and Eve were the only created humans; Adam from the earth (Genesis 2:7), Eve from a part of Adam (Genesis 2:21-22). Adam and Eve first had two sons, Cain and Abel (Genesis 4:1-2). Cain killed Abel (Genesis 4:8), and, as documented in the opening paragraph, was banished to the land east of Eden where he started a family with his wife.
But where did Cain's wife come from? The Bible provides only one answer: Adam "had other sons and daughters" (Genesis 5:4).
Cain married one of his sisters.
While such a marriage would certainly be very wrong today (as God later decreed, see the Fact Finder below), the rules were quite different in the early days of humanity. It wasn't a matter of Cain making a "wrong" choice, since it was his only choice in order to be able to obey God's command for humanity to "be fruitful and multiply" (Genesis 1:28).
In those early times, the defects and disorders that could later possibly occur in children from such marriages, from recessive genes, would not have been as likely, since recessive genes would have had little time to develop. The children could actually have been much healthier than humans are today, as evidenced by the far greater life spans of the earliest humans (e.g. Genesis 5:1-32).
Although Cain and his sister were very closely related, Adam and Eve could be considered even closer. Although Adam and Eve are the ancestors of all subsequent humans, Eve herself was actually created from a part of Adam, in a process that scientists today might call a sort of "cloning" (Adam and Eve were likely quite similar in appearance), so, in a way, genetically, Adam married himself.
Fact Finder: After humanity had become established, did God specify relationship rules for marriage?

Its been not certified first.... the Adam or Eve were the only one pair in starting.
Secondly, its the state of mind which we learnt by ages.... the sister and brother thing. But scientifically/medically, the negative affects have been proved.... so thats the one thing one can rely upon and take care in relations.... on other hand its also reveals that the persons are having different medical bodies... which can have those relations without any adverse effects.... those are not in Bro or Sis catagories.

Yes that is a difficult question. However I donot believe that that is true. I do not believe that due to God talking about that being wrong. I have no hard proof and I do not think anyone can come uop with any. So , from what I know of God's teachings this is not possible.

God created the heavens and the earth. That is when life began.
Genesis details the sexual relationships from Adam and Eve.
Do the math and see how many generations it takes to no longer with ones siblings.

i think ppl do a lot of misinterpreting... but will give you my opinion-- the ppl known as the israelites began with adam and eve-- there were other ppl already on the earth...when cain was banned he mentions that he will be killed if sent out of the garden--(who would kill him?) -- so God put a mark on his forehead that he not be touched

If that were true, humanity wouldn't exist. We'd be extinct at the second or third generation. Maybe forth if we'd been lucky.

we are all very very distant relatives. You can marry your 3rd cousin in the state I live in. Don't ask where because you'd laugh. But it is true.
