Because war is an ineludable part of human nature, expressed in its vilest and most extreme form: It occurs in every level of human endeavour:

As individuals we experience a maturing process socially: Everybody knows how we as little kids usually tend naturally to be selfish and more prone to solve their differences by force rather than by negotiating and compromising. As we develop and grow, we learn from experience and education, and start behaving more civilized -which doesn't mean more humane- because the force factor still rules: Not physically anymore perhaps, but mentally, emotionally, finantially, and so on...

As individuals, internally we fight battles constantly: our conscience vs. our weaknesses, and sometimes we triumph, and some others we just let ourselves go and even get so numb that we have trouble telling between what's good and what's not.
In the life-lasting war that our terrenal lives are, in the end the good people are the ones who won most of their own battles. The bad ones are those who lost them.

And collectively, the Human Race is very much like an average human individual, simply because it's made out of so many of them!
There is a paralell resemblance between the history of humanity and the history of a common human: in their origins they are prone to solve everything with violence, -as kids or as tribes- and as they develop mediation and words want to start taking the place of brute force, as teenagers arguing or as embassies.

So big mass wars have always their origin on lost personal wars of those powerful ones who contributed start them. Therefore, wars will truly be over -not when countries learn to solve their differences in a civil manner- but when we all as individuals learn to conquer ourselves and win our own internal wars... which -yes- are part of our very nature.

Before the world was created there was already a war in heaven because of Satan's rebellion against God. And with the fall of man at the garden of Eden ,war is already there- between good and evil and until to this day. Don't be surprised that we hear wars and rumors of war. There will be more stronger and fierce wars that will come than what we have today. Those in power don't mind whether the women and children are suffering. But we can still rejoice because God promises us a better life where there is no more sorrow, pains and problems. That is, when we get to heaven. Search the scriptures that you and your household will be saved when the great tribulations comes.

I want to start off with war, its not something that should be done very often, but there are some leaders and organizations in the world that can not be talked to or negotiated with or anything of sorts. And sometimes war is need on such people and organizations, but yet, we don't try enough to see if things can be brought to a conclusion by talking. Sometimes they just need to learn the hard way, but then other people suffer, so war, has to sides to its story.

I think the word probably came along after the practice was pretty firmly established.

War is the child of politics. Without politics, war is impossible. With politics, it is probably inevitable. How else can one show that one means business?

The reason are simple. Think of what the lack of the meaning of these words in the lives of all peoples will result in!

Morality, respect, virtue, tolerance, justice

In this forum, a lot of disrespect is shown, along with intolerance
and the absence of morality!

lots of reasons from silly to ridiculous to no purpose at all just to prove his power and dominion in most cases sometimes forgetting all the virtues and principles just to evolve victorious.
it's a sad truth and yet it's a fact.

Love and not War and yet even in love and in war these two big words had become fair in intensity---ironically true.

Lost souls...fought for their rights no matter what.

We need to expressly condemn all religions. Religions are the cause of all these problems today. Those who think that we are the best are the major cause. Let the political leaders condemn religions (by name) and things will calm down.

john lennon said it best "imagine no religion and we will all be one" war was necessary for conquering others who were not believers of one's religious philosophy
