but too easy - the metal the teflon is meant to stick to is etched to give a good purchase for the material. The teflon coating is applied - and then cured onto the surface- it's a chemical change and during that the teflon surface you see develops. The original teflon chemical cocktail is actually sort of toxic until stabilized on the metal surface at the end of the process.

Heh, heh. Actually, it only doesn't stick to surfaces once it hardens--they spray it on.
