Fluids. Water expecially. Hangover is partially from dehydration.

Treatment of hangovers involves rehydrating the body and dealing with the painful symptoms.

Over-the-counter analgesics will help to cope with the pain of headaches and muscle cramps. Paracetamol-based remedies are preferable as aspirin may further irritate the stomach and increase nausea and sickness.

There is evidence to suggest that fructose, a natural sugar found in fruit juice and honey, helps the body to process alcohol faster. Bouillon soup, a thin vegetable-based broth, is also a good source of vitamins and minerals (including salt and potassium), to top up the body’s depleted resources.

Alcohol causes dehydration, as the body loses salt and minerals. You can replace these by drinking plenty of bland liquids such as water and soda water. Some isotonic drinks are now available in most shops, which replace lost salt in the body.

Drink lots of water as a hangover is due to dehydration. It is a very bad idea to drink too much alcohol in hot weather as the heat also dehydrates you, which is sure to make the hangover much worse.

a hangover is caused by deydration. its best to take a tylenol or two and drink an entire glass of water before you go to sleep. if you forgot or were puking when you went to bed, then drink a glass of water and take an asprin as soon as you wake up. if your stomach hurts (ie. if you were dumb enough to drink tequila) then a huge glass of fountain coca cola has always worked for me. and a lot of sleep after that !!! and most of the time if i actually puke when i feel that bad then i feel better. i've heard there is anti hangover medicine you can take while you are drinking but everyone i know has gotten so drunk that they messed up the dosage so you can try that as well if you remember!!!!

My friend always swore by sprite. Personally I go for lots of water.
When you're feeling slightly better (ie no nausea) a nice big fry up.
Ibuprofen for the headache if it is really unbearable, but as a lot of it is due to dehyration, the water should help you feel better. Just keep sipping it.

If you can, go back to bed, or sit still until you are feeling better.

Oranges can also help apparently. I tried this once and it did work.

The main thing though, is to rehydrate your body and get rid of the nasty toxins that are making you feel ill... so WATER!!!

Water and more water. Hot shower. Solpadeine if you have any.

Easier to avoid the hangover in the first place by drinking lots of water with the alcohol.

The reason you get hung over is because your kidneys can't filter out the alcohol. If you would drink water before getting drunk you would be fuller and wouldn't drink as much. Then your kidneys could filter the alcohol and water out more evenly thus leaving your brain less drunk. Your brain stays drunk because it can't compute what is going on. Somthing like that I'm sure you can find it online if you research it. Sorry couldn't be of more help but I know I'm right.

After you have drunk say 6 glasses beer drink 1 litre water right away, and take a painkiller at home, before going to sleep. The morning, you will feel as right as rain- or at least you won't be so out of whack.
