Because it is the natural cycle of our species to sleep when there is no sunlight.

Because it is the logical thing to do. It's too dark at night to do anything. Reading or working, it would all be in the dark and you would lose a bunch of money on electricity bills when you could have just done that stuff in the day with natural sunlight. And sunlight is healthy in moderate amounts. So therefore, the day is too useful to just be sleeping through it, that's why people tend to sleep at night.

People sleep because they're diurnal (active in the day, inactive in the night- naturally, at least...).

Humans have something called a pineal gland that controls when we go to sleep. So we are programmed to go to sleep at night

why not. they still make millions while sleeping. If anybody can afford to sleep, it's them.
