The benefits of communication in marriage are so that each other can ascertain the likes and dislikes of the partner and obtain opinion etc. As the marriage goes on the communication is reduced as each other knows what is wanted and what each other is thinking. This progresses to a level where you are telly communicating and do not need to speak to each other any more as you are in total harmony and on a higher plain or communication.
