If it's an ordinary TI graphing calculator, there's no mod function. However, you can use the fPart function on the TI-83 to get the fractional part of the number divided by the modulus, and then multiply by the modulus to get the remainder. If you have a TI Voyage (probably on the TI-89 and 92 also), there's a mod function. You use the mod function like this:
mod(number, modulus)
Good luck!

On TI 92+ it's mod(a,b)
If you don't have a mod function, you can calulate it by doing this.
Let's say you want 105 mod 23
Take 105 / 23
Subtract the whole number portion which is 4
Multiple by 23
(105 / 23 - 4)(23)

all you gotta do is take the decimal part of the answer and multiply what you are dividing by. That will get you (approximately) the mod. I'm sure that different calculators have different syntax for mod.

if it's TI-83 Plus you can! i have one. you can write short notes. just go to PRGM use the arrows to select "new" press ENTER, name it whatever you like, and start typing. to type letters press the 2nd button then ALPHA. if you want to use a sign press 2nd the catalog (the zero key) and scroll up or down to find a symbol. when ever you want to look back at the notes press PRGM scroll down to select. press ENTER then it might say error so you want to select GO TO. be careful when looking/writing notes because if you press CLEAR or DELETE the message is gone forever.
