why, o why, do people turn gay? and what makes them?

well i wasn't trying to be offensive to anyone. but i guess i should've used another word besides 'turn' b/c i just got bashed for it. but i can't think of another one, i guess 'born' but i didn't think about it carefully so im sorry if i offended you with this question. i probably said 'turned' b/c the only gay person i know said that they have been with women and they wanted to try somthing new. sorry for jumping to conclusions, and from now on, i will think about my questions carefully. thank you if you actually read all this. and for all the people i got bashed by, thank you for letting me know that i was using the wrong term.

Amen! I have no freakin' idea what makes people gay, but it sure ain't natural! God created us as heterosexual beings, and anything other than that is just twisted and wrong! People who are gay are gay because they are gross and want to get AIDs and other gross stuff. I don't know, but I could NEVER get turned on by a girl.

Turn gay is an interesting choice of words.
I don't believe that people "turn" gay. I think there are inherent physiological characteristics. Chemical balances that are determined by perhaps genetics, perhaps an evolutionary process, perhaps something in the environment during the mother's gestation. It may be part of a plan larger than any of us, with our small minds, can understand. It would certainly be an interesting evolutionary tool for population control.
I don't think we can really know right now the why or how. We can only accept it for what it is and practice tolerance and kindness towards one another.

Wow, what ignorance! I knew when I was around 10- 12 that I was different. I didn't know all the bigoted words that hurt so many people and are associated with being a homosexual that I do now, but I knew I wasn't like my heterosexual friends. So, I guess I CHOSE to be DIFFERENT before I even knew what hell I would be getting into as an adult. Too bad now I have to fight for my rights, because of close-minded idiots like you who wouldn't know a good person if it slapped them in the face.

Why does it matter if someone is gay? It doesn't change that person at all.

People are gay for a myriad of reasons. Very few choose it, but some do. Most just feel that way. Just like people feel straight. It's a like and dislike. What makes some people hate brocolli and others love it? It's just how we are. But to not like someone because they like brocolli seems dumb, doesn't it?

It's all about preference. Why do some people like one flavour of ice cream while other like another flavour? why do some people like Vanilla Coke while other like Original Coke? it's sipmly preference. I prefer guys over girls, just as i'm assuming you prefer the opposite sex.
