And he said it appeared to be attached the the side of my uterus. My doctor didn't give my much information of this. I don't know how bad the septum is. If you are already pregnant, your options are limited to, at the present state of technology, ultrasound scan only. 3D or 4D ultrasound will help but not really mandatory because your doctor will not be able to excise the septum when you are pregnant even if it is delineated.

I would suggest you leave matters as they are and enjoy your pregnancy. Uterine septum is not rare. Most of the mothes who have uterine setpum do well and carry the pregnancy to term. In fact, a lot of mothers (and their obstetricians) do not even know they have a septum until delivery by Caesarean section. If they deliver normally, this may not even be discovered.

After your delivery, you may want to consider doing some diagnostic procedures such as hysteroscopy, hysterosalpingogram or laparoscopy.

I have only seen a uterus septum once before and the baby came out happy and healthy at 39 weeks. (The septum was pushed over to one side, it was a c-section delivery however)
My best suggestion is to either talk to your doctor and ask more questions (I know that doctors have a tendency to talk over people's heads, and please do not feel dumb about asking questions) This is their job to explain to you what is going on with your body, and if he can't seek another professional that can.
Take care of yourself.
