Yes I think he deserved the award, he played with determination, scored goals, got his team into the final, might? have won,( had someone been gagged during the match). He has had a wonderful career won some great games, and been a credit to these clubs he has played for since 1988, AS Cannes, FC Griondins de Bordeaux, Juventus FC, & Madrid where he played his last game on 7th may 2006.

No, I do not believe he should get the best player award. Here's why: A player cannot allow himself to snap at a game, as he did. Especially when it was such an important game. A player MUST be able to keep his emotions in check. If he's mad or frustrated, take it out on the ball...even if the other player did supposedly insult Zidane's mother. It is quite possible that if Zidane had not head butted the other player, then France could have won. This is just my opinion on the matter.

yes-he s played since he was young in a small city of Marseille! My grandma was raised there, too.
THey were very poor and they played with rocks!
She met Zidane and was friends with him ill he started professionally!
They are still intouch.
He so deserves it! Look in the past-look what he's done for the team!

Of course he deserves it! Just because of that unfortunate incident in the final, it doesn't make him undeserving. Like I have said before, that will never marr him, he will always be a hero, he is a legend in France.

absolutely, he single handedly took control of the game against brazil, and he also scored some important goals... mostly on PK's though. as far as the materazzi thing goes, some people just deserve to be headbutted.

yes.Zidane is the key player of France.He played well for his team and he took France to the final.
