Yes. I was hospitalized due to depression. When people found out about this they treated me like a leper.

Yes, but not for religious affiliation. I am short, only 4' 10" and it makes it difficult to get a job because I am not BIG and Strong. I can't reach shelves without a step-stool. I have to use a cushion when I drive. I find that people often talk down to me. The worst is "How's the weather down there?" or "You must be what, 5 foot 'F' all"
I was in a hospital once, in a very tragic circumstance. The woman next to me was the loveliest Jewish woman I had ever met. I didn't know till she told me she was Jewish. It never bothered me either way. My Dad was wonderful about acceptance of all race, color and creed. We could do with more people like that in this world.

Yep..used to weigh almost 400 lbs. And I was a singer\songwriter. There were actually contracts I signed that said I had to lose x amounts of pounds before record would get release. People would stop to look at me on the street, and say some of the vilest things, in front of my children.
I actually hed jerks, (strangers), Tell me when I ate in public, that I really should not be eating anymore. It was horrible. I couldn't get jobs I was qualified for. I stopped eating in public. I wouldn't use public restrooms.
It turned out I had a thyroid disease. I had surgery, and I am on meds. I think back to all the cruel people who talked crap to me.
Being fat for some is a genetic disease. To just say you eat too much is not the problem in every case. I was on diet after diet for years.
Being mean-spirited, and shallow is a personal flaw.

Yes, in 1955 I was 9 years old. My parents moved from Wisconsin to Texas when my dad got a good paying job as a machinist. Most of the kids didn't care I was from Wisconsin, but two of the teachers did. One of them was my forth grade teacher. She did not like me because I was a "Yankee". I could feel it in the way she spoke and looked at me. Even though I was white and she was white I was experiencing the same kind of prejudice that blacks must feel from prejudiced whites. I never forgot that. I have forgotten her name, evidently I didn't feel she deserved to be remembered. My mom even could tell that lady didn't like her as well. Another situation that proves prejudice is learned. Evidently she had some relatives who still harbored resentment over the civil war that ended almost 100 years before. Sad....

I was passed over for a job because I am a women. The man they hired wasn't as qualified as me, one of my friends who worked there was more upset then me. They also had actually asked me in the interview if I would be offended by the men who I would be working withs language and conversation. I knew when they asked they weren't going to hire me, answered honestly that no I wouldn't be offended. 15 years later I got a letter from attorneys, apparently they still hadn't hire a women and were being sued by another lady who was also passed over for a man less qualified for the same position. While researching, she found out they hadn't hired a women in 30 years. The company settled and settlement checks ended up being given to all the women who had applied in that time.

Up north in New York, I have never had a problem however down south like around GA, I have infrequent encounters with rednecks aka ignorant white trash extremists who are not very fond of hispanics. When confronted with one of these situations, I feel very very angry, however I keep my cool and show them who is the better educated young lady.

I have been ostracisized by society for a number of reasons. Any particular reason you're asking? We are al discriminated against to some degree on a daily basis.

All of the time. People can not tell what nationality I am and so my own people look down on me often. It's a shame because if all people realized the truth (we are all mixed races) no one could frown upon anyone else.

Health insurance companies won't cover me because of my depression. I can understand in some instances like Type II Diabetes and obesity but not for depression or anxiety.
