are you more surprised by the stuff you don't know or by the stuff other people don't know?

Definitely the stuff other people don't know! I've seen one person say with great honesty that she was 11 months pregnant, other people ask whether it's a good idea to feed their cat alcohol... maybe some of these aren't serious but they sure seem so. I always try to answer honestly and without condecension but sometimes I am staggered by the ignorance out there.

I don't want to sound like a snooty know-it-all - I certainly don't know it all - but some of the questions are so basic it's hard not to chastise people for not knowing the answer.

I'm more surprised by the stuff other people don't know. It's amazing that lots of people can't spell when there's a spell check in front of them and also amaze that some people can not even ask a question in a complete sentence.
