Can you ever think of an original idea with out the millinons of people living or dead thinking it before you did?

EVERY copyrightable song is an original thought --if it plaigerizes an existing copyright then the copyright will be denied, and if it copies an old song from centuries ago, it is imitating something in the public domain and a copyright will be denied.

Same is true for book copyrights.

Same is true for over six million patents (my best friend has 5).

I think we can have original thought. We each have a different genetic code construction the physical brain plus we each draw from different factors such as life experiences, perception, and personality. I may agree or arrive at the same conclusion as someone else, but I doubt the entire thought process was exactly the same.

Must be, or no progress would ever be made. Even if an inventor didn't think of the idea for an invention first, they would be one of the first if not the first to think of bringing the idea into reality which would cause others seeing said invention to conceptualize other ideas based upon it that were previously unimagined.

Yep. This is because of new inventions. I bet no one's ever thought- If I put my ipod in a blender with my dog's dog food he'll never notice when I feed it to 'em

My first reaction is to say no, but then again, science recognizes that anything is possible. It may not be probable or likely, but I'm going to have to go with it is possible.
