Zip Codes in England are called Post codes and there isnt a zip code for the whole of London...Every five houses has a Post code with a different number attached to it so the residents address can be recognised eg...TW would be the area Twickenham but then it is followed by a number then three more letters . eg. OX number number again and two letters would be Oxford...London is divided into sectors so EC would be the East Central London, SW would be south West London W would be West London but they too would be followed by other numbers and letters.
Please excuse the rudeness of some of these people. People that don't travel often have less tolerance of others.

Unlike the USA the UK doesn't have Zip Codes, they have post codes, and each code approximates to about 20 houses, or even sometimes just 1 house or business, codes are usually two letters followed by 1 or 2 numbers, this gives the general area, but again small, and then 1 or 2 numbers followed by 2 letters, this gives the specific location, so it is possible, in the UK, to just put a house number or name, and then the postcode and it will get delivered to the correct address.

I don't mind you not knowing that zip codes are called postcodes in the UK, but why would you assume there is just one code for the whole of London?!
I assume you are US based and will have sent letters using zip codes domestically. So you will already know that one code won't serve a whole city.
This is probably why people aren't being very helpful - because you haven't applied any common sense before asking your question.
You need to feed the address into the Royal Mail postcode finder on the Royal Mail website - I'm not going to give you the link as I want you to apply a bit of common sense and try to find it yourself (that's if someone hasn't already posted it in another response).
Next time, think a bit more before asking your question and then people might be a bit more friendly/helpful.8-)
PS auntienaw - I see you haven't offered any help or advice to the OP - I can't think of anything much ruder than berating other posters without even addressing the question!!!! BTW most people posting on here get frustrated when questioners don't use any common sense - it's not rude or stuck up to ask people to think for themselves a bit before asking for help. But it is rude to insult someone simply because they know something you don't. Inferiority complex perhaps?!

In the July issue of 'Buttons & Zips' has a catalogue in the back for the purchase of Zips and Buttons.
May I draw your attention to the fine zip on page 154 which should you wish to purchase and to be delivered in London would use the following code.

And they say yanks are rude???? My goodness, not everyone in the world knows the pearls of wisdom the majority of posters here obviously know. No wonder the world is in the shape its in if this is an example of tolerance for others. Thank goodness the majority of the British people aren't callous, obnoxious, nose in the air type of people. I am quite certain that if these people ever visit my country, they will find things quite different.
