Purple Rain is the story of a guy trying to get his bad off the ground. His inspiration comes from his jacked up family life. He meets a girl who is also in a band and she gets picked up by this sleazy manager and prince doesn't tust or like him. Do the math from there. It is a happy ending at the end though...duh.

Purple Rain is about an arrogant musician trying to overcome family history and find love. It is pretty hokey by today's standards, but as a teen I saw in about 15 times and loved it.
