any router is compatible with att yahoo high speed internet modem.if you have the 4100 modem and a 5100 with 5 light indicators on it then you need to make sure that the modem is in bridge mode.make sure that the pc is directly connected first to the modem
setting modem to a bridge mode:
access http://192.168.0.1/
click on the advanced button at the left side of the screen
click PPP location
select Bridged Mode (PPPoE is not used). This mode must be used if you are connecting to a non-PPPoE network.
click save changes
there will be a restart needed
at this time you will be getting only 3 solid green lights on the modem
internet light will be off
you cant access the internet at this time unless you will going to have the router configured with this modem and you need to call you router manufacturer in configuring the correct settings

now if you have a 4 light indicator modems then all you need to do is to contact your router manufacturer right away.there is no need for you to configure anything on the modem

for me calling ATT tech support and then calling router manufacturer must be so inconvenient. i would rather suggest to get a 2wire modem or netopia cayman routers from ATT SBC .if you want to know more about this try to contact the sbc dsl store at 800-861-2974

If that Netgear router isn't working, most likely it's not configured properly. The easiest thing would be to reset it to factory defaults (usually a hole in the back that has a button that can be pushed with a ballpoint pen, holding it in for about 10 seconds). Otherwise give Netgear a call for help.

it appears you have a problem with your settings on the netgear router unfortunately yahoo dsl support will not help you go to the microsoft site and search for sbc yahoo help and you should find appropriate configuarion information

I WOULD RECOMMEND BUYING A 2wire ROUTER FROM AT&T. THEY HAVE SEPARATE SUPPORT FOR 2wire, and it works just fine.
