A very good question and I am sure you will get many mixed answers.
Intelligence is the natural ability to perform any given task. It's what you are born with. E.g. the ability to learn things.
The ability to comprehend; to understand and profit from experience.
Intelligence is a general mental capability that involves the ability to reason, plan, solve problems, think abstractly, comprehend ideas and language, and learn. In psychology, the study of intelligence is related to the study of personality but is not the same as creativity, personality, character, or wisdom
A common mistake is to make intelligence and common sense the same.
Wisdom is what you learn and remember from experience of things you see and do throughout you life, Simply put if you wanted to cross a busy road you would choose to do so by either using a pedestrian crossing or footbridge. Whereas a child would just run across the road.

Intelligence = book knowledge
Wisdom = world knowledge
People can always become intelligent, but it isn't as easy to become wise. You get wisdom from mainly experiences. Intelligence is what you learned from a book...or something of that nature.

That's a hard one....I think there are two types of intelligence. The first type it that of someone who is book smart. You see, I think that you can be extremely booksmart but have no common sense, leaving you susceptible to a lot of hardships. Then there's the intelligence of someone who has huge amounts of common sense but no booksmarts, which also makes it hard to be successful in the real world. But then there's that special type of person...the person who is not only booksmart, but has common sense as well. That, I think, is wisdom. I'm not 100% sure, I've only been around for 14 years, so let me get back to you on that one after I've lived a little bit to see if I change my viewpoint. =)

The best way I can put it: Intelligence and knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.
-You can have a high IQ and get very good grades, but if you don't have wisdom-being able to apply that IQ and what you study to acheive those grades to everyday life- you can't get vary far.

Intelligence is shown by how many mistakes you make. The more mistakes, less intelligence.
Wisdom is extra intelligence you learn from other peoples mistakes.
So the person who makes the least amount of mistakes, is the most intelligent and wise.

The difference is that intelligence connotes information or facts while wisdom is greater and more rarely applied because it is what people are capable of doing when they use information and apply compassion.

Intelligence is the gift you were given at birth, wisdom is what you do with it and choose to learn from it.

I saw this on a bumper sticker on the way home tonight: With intelligence you should speak, with wisdom you should listen.
