What type of trees do really well in the Central Texas Killeen-Temple area, preferably shade trees?

From a Louisiana guy--Bradford Pear is a good shade tree, and it is beautiful in the fall--red and yellow leaves!

Have a look around at the native trees. Undeveloped property, parks, etc. Plant those types and it's a sure thing.

Live oaks...any kind of oak.
Cotton wood trees
