Jews, Muslims and Christians have messianic beliefs. Only the messiah can bring lasting peace before the world destroys itself.

Steel caged match...seriously. I would back off and let them have at it and settle this damned thing once and for all. I have watched these conflicts errupt and simmer down only to errupt again. I think it is was Godfather I when a hood was explaining to Michael that these things (meaning conflicts) have to happen every ten years or so to get out the bad blood. Well it is far worse than every ten years. It seems worse due to the 24/7 news access of course, so we are all making way too much out of the conflict right now. But as long as there are these same two middle east factions (actually several more are involved, but let's keep it simple), there will be no lasting peace. There can be, there was once, long ago. it isn't clean, it isn't politically correct, it isn't desireable, but letting them go at it, well, we will deal with whoever is left standing.

NO JOKE, ASK SERIOUS QUESTION AND GET SERIOUS ANSWER.
Hezbollah is not a country its an organization, a terror organization that don't want to recognize Israel as a country.
I wish Lebanon will follow the UN agreements and disarm Hezbollah, then lets pray for a peace between Israel and Lebanon.

Have Israel carpet bomb Hezbollah territory, stopping ONLY when Hezbollah publicly apologises for their unprovocated first and deadly strikes, surrendering the ones responsible for this mess into Israeli police custody.

As the lebanese prime minister proposed:
-Temporary cease-fire.(By both sides)
Lebanon
-Hezbollah GIVES their weapons to Lebanese goverment.(Any attempt by force by the lebanese goverment will lead to civil war which is bad for everyone.)
-UN peace keeping forces and Lebanese army spread in the south.
Israel:
-Give back all arab occupied territory.
-Return all 10000 lebanese and arab prisonners.
-Make peace with palestinians and let them leave in peace.
This will probably end all conflict in the middle-east exept for syria and iran. But I don't know if Hezbollah and Israel will agree on those terms.

Put an arms embargo on both countries. Order troops of both the nations to withdraw from the border. Appoint a multi-national peace keeping force on the border to prevent incursions from either side.
That should be a start atleast.

Power is not going to be the solution. If I had the wisdom, I'd be looking for a way that both parties get most of what they really need. I can't find it, but that's the only way. If either side "loses" there will be another generation of terrorists coming up.

I would put them all together in white jumpsuits and spin them all around in circles and chances are they wouldn't be able to tell each other apart. Seriously, you said I'd have the power to do that.
