it will bring the pages up but on most of the pages there will be an outling of a box with another little white box with a red 'x' on the top left hand corner... what do i do???

I asume it's IExplorer? Get firefox!
In IE -- limit cache size to 20M:
menu -> tools->internet options-> General tab
in temporary internet files section
1) Delete files
2) settings, set 20 MB

Enable images:
menu -> tools->internet options->Advanced
in "Multimedia" sections check "Show pictures" and all others.

Hey! if your computer is a MAC and you are trying to open certain screens here on YAHOO! than it means that you cannot see the page because you dont have the right "plug-in". ex. in YAHOO! games, when i try to play certain games on my MAC then i get a funny window that shows the screen that i should be playing the game in but instead of the game there is a little red "X" in the upper left hand corner.

Have no idea what that could be. I would call some kind of Tech support for help. That's what I do when I can't figure something out.

Try going to "Tools" then "Internet Options and then click on the "Advanced" tab on the top. Try "Restoring Defaults" and see if that helps any.
