Hands down I would vote for Sea World.....
I've only been to Schlitterbahn once, and swore I'd never go back....the lines were way too long, some out to the street.
I've held season passes to Sea World for years. It may not have as much to do as Fiesta Texas, but it is a lot more 'kid friendly' and runs at an easier pace for the grown-ups to be able to keep up.
I can tell you I prefer to NOT go on a week-end, if possible because of the lines, but if that is your only choice, Sea World is still easier to get around. The two main coasters are pretty good, and the shows give you time to sit and relax a bit in between.....
Good luck with whatever you decide, and I hope you have fun....

Same as what you think. Schlitterbahn is a blast, but there is more to do at Sea World than a water park. Oh, Schlitterbahn isn't just a waterpark. It's THE waterpark rated by travel channel as the number #1 waterpark in the USA. You can also bring your own cooler filled with drinks and food, but no glass containers and no booze. There are lockers of course for any valuables. I think the most I ever lost were a pair of flip flops. But, there is a payless nearby, so we just got another pair on the way home. I like Sea World because of the shows and other types of rides. It is a lot more expensive. You can go to Schlitterbahn after 3:00 and pay a lot less and still have 5 hours of fun. You can get a two day pass to Sea World. Go to their websites.

We have taken our son to both places since he was 4. If you ask him he would answer Sea World. If you get the two day pass you can see the shows in the morning when it's not as hot, and spend the afternoons in the water park or amusement rides. We always left for a couple hours in the afternoon for "nap-time" when he was younger. Even though Schlitterbahn is the best water park in the USA, it may not be the right choice for a 2 year old. You can get more family time all together at Sea World and still have fun in a smaller water park. The younger kids will love seeing the "characters" at Sea World and the 12 year old will love the amusement rides.

Considering those ages plus the parents, I would definitely say Sea World..it's a great & fun experience. You have more options there, you can view shows, you get to see the Sea Animals, oh get to feed & touch the dolphins, there are places that the kids can swim plus waterides for the older one..then there's the regular rides, roller coasters, games, etc..they have for all ages things to do. As in Schlitterbahn its more of a waterpark and I don't know how enjoyable that will be for the little one, all day out there. Suggestion, if possible go during the week...weekends are rather crowded. Have fun!

schlitterbahn is a great place to go. you can go between three parks by just hopping on a tram, it is free! they have lots of kiddie areas, as well as tubes with bottoms for the little ones. The tube rides are much milder than i remember them being when I was that age. I have not been to Sea World since they added the water park, but I do know that the only real way to beat this heat is the water.

Depends, if thier like 8 or youger maybe they would like Sea World better, if their older they would prolly enjoy Schlitterbahn more. It also depends on if they are active and like doing stuff and like the water.
