Ideas for a banner for my homepage?

It is 1024 by 84 pixels, although the height can change by probably ±50.

I don't have any ideas... I can make it an animated GIF too.

*sighs* It is just a homepage, about nothing, it is a place to link everything else of mine.

As for the size, if somebody is viewing MY homepage, and THEY don't like it, TOO DAMN BAD! If they really care that much, then they can tell me a specific problem they had and I might consider fixing it or making an alternate site.

If you have to ask for ideas, maybe you should seriously consider not having one. I mean, I suppose I *could* suggest a giant flaming squid, or three dogs running around - but if your homepage is about you restoring your small-block Chevy, it will look pretty silly.

Also, do the world a favor, and remember that just because *you* like 1024 pixels wide, not everybody does. Lot of people on laptops or smaller older monitors may only have 800x600 space to play with, so your banner is too big. I have lots of screen real estate, so the window is 1325 pixels wide - and your 1024 pixel banner will look deficient...
