Economic and political self-interest. Usually if you really want the answer to a question, just follow the money.

Hmmm think about it this question is a no brainer look at all the other countries then ask the question again...and as far as your comment about do a better job in their own...We, have the best country, military, GDP, economic standar, why do you think the euro had to be spread like a virus to all the other european countries so they can compete against the US. Now it's finally beating the dollar but it how many Euro countries versus one? Also, people that hate america place money into the Euro to help it grow as well. Anyways, we do have our share of unemployment, imigration, and deficit (all you finacial people the bigger the deficit the better we can compete or the higher the dollar is versus the Euro) but what country doesn't these problems.

Because the leader of the USA is an idiot and he believes he can change the world "for the better."
The USA is NOT "logic" like someone previously said. The USA does NOT have "good intentions." All of the "wars" thus far have been in countries with oil. A coincidence?? I think not.
And, the USA IS involved in every single war in this world.
It seems that USA, the one with the "good intentions" is out to eradicate anyone that does not share the same screwed-up views.

The nature of US economics in relation to the rest of the world dictates its involvement in international politics. Otherwise, there would be an even greater amount of domestic problems due to global economic disruptions. Disruptions caused by uninfluenced conflicts that would fester, not resolve themselves.

It IS the world's Sheriff. NO ONE else will do anything to stop aggressors. Sure the U.N. will make resolutions, but who's gonna enforce them? France? I think not.

Could it be the after-effects of the Great War, one of the great democracies that brought the Nazi war criminals to judgement at Nuremburg? The moral high ground is hard to let go after the scale of inhumanity witnessed by the world...it's hard to go back to our old isolationist ways.

Because they want to take over other countries' riches (Hello! Oil anybody?) and they put a whole lot of patriotic bullsh*t brainwashing into it. They put a nice, movie-worthy (and a cheesy movie at that) name on it, like "Operation: Iraqi freedom". And they have the money to do so...

No more money to be made in their own country,so why not go overseas and create another free enterprise like their own.First they have to clean up other countries by police-ing them.

first off, the u.s. is doing a pretty good job in their country, they can't help that terrorists attacked them. and second, they are leaders, they would rather try to help, then sit on the sidelines hoping and expecting someone else will fix the problem.
