I AGREE WITH YOU! CIRCUMSIZION IS ABUSE! They invented circumsizion years ago when showers were not taken everyday and it was extrememly hot, so you'd sweat all day and get dirty easily. I understand why it was necessary back then but there is no point today in the modern world. Yes, sure, thousands of years ago cutting your kid's foreskin was more hygeinic, but today it just does NOT make sense! If you're a man, and you shower daily, and clean your penis, you most likely won't get any infections.

circumcision is a very controversial subject. There was a time that many males were routinely circumscised. Doctors felt that a circumcised penis could prevent cancer in that are and that the procedure was generally hygenic. More recently, it has been learned that there is no medical reason for this procedure and that baby boys should not be circumcised as a matter of routine.
However, among Jews, circumcision is an ancient traditional ritual, where a male child who is 8 days old will have their foreskin removed. The procedure is completed in a safe manner, where a topical anestthetic is used to decrease pain for the baby. While I understand why many people see this as a barbaric and unnecessary practice, for Jews, it is a rite of passage, symbolizing the covenanant that God made with Abraham, Issac, Jacob, the people of Israel....to this generation. It is a tangible sign that symbolizes the relationship between Man and God. The message: The genital area is holy.....both for pleasure and procreation....but ultimately.....it is God that has power over our procreative and sexual powers.....and if we do not use this power in an ethical way....God will figuratively and maybe even literally cut our ***** off!!!!
my two cents!

Circumcision is the surgical removal of the foreskin of the penis. It is often performed in healthy boys for cultural or religious reasons. In the U.S., circumcision of a newborn boy is usually done before he leaves the hospital. Jewish boys, however, are circumcised when they are 8 days old.
The merits of circumcision are currently under debate. There is NOT a compelling medical rationale for the procedure in healthy boys. However, some boys have medical conditions where circumcision may be needed.
Many physicians, rather than routinely recommending circumcision for healthy boys, allow the parents to make the decision after presenting them with the pros and cons
In some faiths, including Judaism and Islam, circumcisions are performed on all baby boys as a religious rite. In some parts of the world, including Europe, Asia, and South and Central America, circumcision is rare among the general population.
Opinions vary among physicians regarding the need for circumcision in healthy boys. Some place great value on the benefits of an intact foreskin, including a more natural sexual response during adulthood.
However, some studies suggest that uncircumcised male infants have an increased risk of urinary tract infections. Other studies show correlations between being uncircumcised and an increased risk of developing penile cancer, some sexually transmitted diseases including HIV, infections of the penis, and phimosis (tightness of the foreskin, not allowing it to retract over the glans penis). The overall increased risk for these conditions is thought to be relatively small.
Proper hygiene of the penis and safe sexual practices can help prevent phimosis, penile cancer, AIDS, and other sexually transmitted diseases. Proper hygiene is always important, but is thought to be especially important for an uncircumcised male.
The American Academy of Pediatrics revised their policy statement on circumcision in March 1999, and this policy is supported by the American Medical Association. Their summary of the policy is the following:
"Existing scientific evidence demonstrates potential medical benefits of newborn male circumcision; however, these data are not sufficient to recommend routine neonatal circumcision. In circumstances in which there are potential benefits and risks, yet the procedure is not essential to the child's current well-being, parents should determine what is in the best interest of the child. To make an informed choice, parents of all male infants should be given accurate and unbiased information and be provided the opportunity to discuss this decision. If a decision for circumcision is made, procedural analgesia should be provided."

There is NO medical reason to circumcise a baby. NONE. You have been BRAINWASHED if you disagree. It does NOT prevent infection or disease, and it "keeps it clean" by removing it! Teach your kids to wash for ****'s sake! FORESKIN HAS A PURPOSE - it protects the penis! It is NATURAL and should be LEFT ALONE!!!!!
Circumcision was popularized during Victorian times as a MASTURBATION PREVENTATIVE. It DESENSITIZES THE PENIS! They started doing it so little boys would be less likely to touch their stuff!! It is UNNECESSARY, harmful and DUMB! It has also been PROVEN to generally REDUCE overall PENIS LENGTH!!
If you think it is medically needed you are UNINFORMED. YOU should go read more about it.
I feel so sorry for circumcised men! They're not whole and it is so sad!
PS - If your argument is that it should be removed because it MAY cause problems down the road ... we might as well remove every damned organ in our bodies. Any one of them may get infected, enflammed or cancerous, afterall ........ misinformed morons.

Well, point out your statistics? I've not heard of a baby dying from being circumsized. You want to do this young and preferably when they are babies, why? All of the nerve endings have not formed; their skin regenerates and heals at an extremely rapid pace; I've never seen a baby "cry" at any length at all due to the procedure, and I've seen a lot of newborns, my sisters, my friends, my nieces, etc. Not one of them acted in pain. It's nearly done with just rubber bands these days.
Why do this? Because it prevents urinary and penile shaft infections. Adult men who eventually get this done have to do it because of all the infections they get. Statistics will bear that out and I had a son-in-law at age 22 who finally underwent the procedure due to all of his problems, and I tell ya what, he was terribly uncomfortable; my grandson on the other hand, didn't mind the rubber bands one darn bit. And it is not a cruel procedure.

I am proud to say that I did not circumcise my son. I did not make a choice to have a natural part of his body cut off. I made the choice to not subject my son to pain. I made the choice that about fifty-percent of American and Canadian parents are choosing to make.
Circumcision that is not done for religious or therapeutic reasons is mutilation and it's wrong. I will teach him hygiene and also about safe sex when the time comes to that. Many people are disillusioned that they will take a newborn child (who has no choice or say in the matter) and cut a piece of their body off without hesitating but their preteen son asks for his ear pierced or to die their hair and they tell them no, and lecture about not changing the bodies god gave to them...Hypocritical? Maybe.
I do realize that some circumcised kids might say something about my son's penis. Maybe they'll even call him names like "turtle-neck" and the like. I will just tell my son to look that poor mutilated kid right in the face and say, "Ha! Your mom/dad made the doctor cut half your penis off!"

A friend of mine chose not to cicumcize her son, when he was born. She thought the procedure would be to painful. When her son turned 1 1/2 he began attending daycare The caregivers didn't clean the extra skin very well and he ending up blistering so severly that he needed emergency surgery to remove the extra skin. Very traumatic.

It is for health reasons!!!! No matter how clean you think it may be you can still get a serious infection and transmit STDs!!!
Not to mention the pain you would undergo if you would decide to get circumcised as an adult!!!
And not all hospitals do the procedure with out anesthetics.. my OB/GYN used a local(topical)anesthetic..

If we are born with it I don't see why it has to be removed. I think is gross. What if they tell you that they had to chop off also the point of the penis, would you do it to your son ? Is incredible that people can be so narrow minded and herded to do certain things.
