I love Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow, but I saw this question today on tv and wanted to know what ya'll thought.

To the Saxophonegamer: Johnny didnt mimicked Mick Jagger, but Keith Richards who might play Jack Sparrow's dad in the third installment of the movie.

Jack Sparrow's character has so much of Johnny Depp in it that I just cannot see anyone else for that role. Jack Sparrow just have Johnny Depp written all over it. :)

Johnny Depp created a different Jack Sparrow than the moviemakers originally envisioned. (They had a more traditional swashbuckler in mind.) But Depp's unique character is what makes the movies worth watching. I don't think any other actor would have attempted the part that way.

I think the only person who could have played it even close to as good as Depp would be the person who's mannerisms he mimicked for Capt. Sparrow, and that's Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones.

no one could have pulled it off like Johnny.....Johnny Depp made Jack Sparrow come alive..and i dont think anyone else could have done it. Johnny is an AMAZING actor and he deserves to be nominated for something for this movie =)

i think other people could have played jack sparrow and had alot of fun with it. but i can't see anyone doing that as good as Johnny Depp. and i doubt anyone else could make a pirate look so sexy.

Sorry but I think ol' Johnny Depp is way over rated as an actor..but thats just my opinion..I could see these guys playing it just as well..

I agree with everyone else, noone could replace depp, he could have even pulled it off if the pirate was more tradiational
oddly enough I could see some classic character in the role like the guys who played Blackbeard (2006 mini or classic movie)
