Hello, I'm on the second week and seeing definite improvement on my yeast infection symptoms:

Note that: If the yeast infection doesn't respond to over the counter treatment, prescription medication will likely be necessary. Similarly, if the symptoms return after two months of being treated, you should contact the doctor for professional treatment rather than resorting again to home treatment.

If this is the first time you have experienced a yeast infection, you should schedule an appointment to have the condition treated by a doctor instead of resorting to home treatment

Your doctor will do a pelvic examination to look for inflammation and a white discharge in your vagina and around the vaginal opening. Your doctor may also take a sample of the vaginal discharge for quick examination under a microscope in the office or to send to a laboratory to test for yeast organisms.

I don't know what the test is like, but cranberry juice is a very good way of preventing yeast infections.

No, they ask your symptoms (usually itching and discharge that's thick but not stank) and look at your vagina. They know just by looking at it.

You can cure it yourself with plain yogurt (no sugar) and a tampon. Dip the tampon into the yogurt and insert it inside your vagina. Do this twice a day every day and it should be gone by day 3.
