What do you mean by "safe"? Neither of you will be at any more risk than at any other time during her cycle. STDs can still be transmitted by either person. If you're asking if it's "safe" and she won't get pregnant, that's not necessarily the case. The chance that she'll get pregnant while menstruating is much less, but it's still possible.

Safe yes....Ive never heard of pregnancies stemming out of sex during an actual period....I'll have to look that one up since others seem to say the opposite. Yes, it is messy, but it is a great pain reliever thanks to the endorphins and as long as you're married, I wouldnt worry about the condom....otherwise, might wanna wrap it.

Yes but it's messy, use a condom.
And Pooh, you do not ovulate during your period. Most women ovulate 6 days AFTER their period. So before you get all high and mighty about your superior knowledge, find out what you're talking about.

As safe as any other time. It's more of a cultural thing. In some cultures, it's actually taboo. But whatever the culture, as has been pointed out, it does get messy.

I don't know whether to be sad or shocked at the lack of knowledge of these readers who've been answering your question. No, it is not safe to have sex on your period-you are actually more fertile at this stage because you also go through ovulation, which totally increases your chances of getting pregnant.Even if you use a condom or other birth control method, there are no guarantees. Not to mention that having sexual intercourse when you are on your period is gross and disgusting anyways!!You'd be better off waiting until your period's over with, trust me on this one.

Have you ever considered having sex in the shower. While on your period at least you can get clean after.

Safe, as she won't get pregnant? Yes.
Safe, as neither of you will be hurt? Yes.
But do you really want to? Be ready for the very red mess.

You still need to use protection against STD and precautions for birth control. You won't physically cause harm to your partner. However, learn to spell it correctly before you endulge, okay?

Yes, it safe to have sex when on your period, but it can get messy at times, but use protection ( only if you don't want a baby), but that is the best way to sex if you are trying to get pregant. !!!!!!!!!!!GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!
