On the one hand, gays claim that the government should stay out of their lives, when the government correctly determines that gay "marriage" is a sham.

On the other hand, they go whining and crying to the government every time they think they can squeak another drop of "acceptance" for their perverted lifestyles.

Why is that?

I don't think the government should stay out of my life, as such (to honestly think that would mean belief in anarchy; I don't have enough faith in humanity to go for that). I will say that the government should stay out of my bedroom: there should be no laws about what two consenting adults can and cannot do together sexually. But (and here's the part that'll blow your mind), being gay is NOT just about sex. If I'm in a loving, committed relationship and I want to take the traditional route and have a spouse, 3.5 kids and a goldfish in my suburban white picket fenced house, there's also no legal reason I should be left out of that. Furthermore, as mentioned above, I do think that the government exists to protect its citizenry. It's therefore in appropriate for it to be ok for someone to beat the ever living snot out of me because I'm gay; it's on par with a threat (which can also be illegal) to the rest of the gay community.

Why is acceptance is quote? Why is that? More importantly, what is your actual complaint here?

Dude , You have a serious problem . Its called ignorance . Why don't you get educated on the plight of gay men and women before you start asking stupid questions and embarrassing your self . If the situation were reversed and gay was the norm you would be doing the same thing to get the right to marry , hold a job without fear of being fired , to live your life with the person you love with out oppression , to be able to walk down the street without fear of someone beating you half to death because your in love with a woman not a man . Dude put yourself in the other persons shoes and just imagine how your life would change .

Ok first off, I can tell that you're not gay. Another thing is that this section is for people that either are GLBT, questioning, or have lagitamite questions that aren't insulting to the GLBT community, or can be openminded. You have shown that you're not openminded by saying that our lifestyle is "perverted". You're allowed to say that, voice your option and all, but please don't do that here. It's not a "I hate you straight people" thing so don't take it as such. It's a "I don't care to hear that here when people that have genuine question that aren't degrading can ask them without feeling insulted" thing. Understand?

Another question from a latent homosexual. With the divorce rate well over 50% in this country, your argument falls short of anything. Its more like hetero-marriage is a "sham"!

Good luck with whatever it is you are dealing with. It is apparent that you need some psychiatric help.

gays are not heterophones. they simply want to live like everyone else and gay couples just want the same rights as other couples, and to be with the one they love without constantly being looked at/told they're going to hell/ etc.

and i believe that perverted would more describe you, who has nothing better to do than to pick on gay people.

Your question sets up a dichotomy, but your other hand isn't in opposition to your one hand. Doesn't thread.

Your question is a sham and has no merit. Ask something intelligent next time.
