They aren't supposed to. They take a vow of celibacy - no sex. The nuns take the same vow.

Just like in EVERY religion, or EVERY walk of life, there are those very small few that make everyone else look bad. I am not Catholic, but I have a feeling the majority of the priests are good and decent and are priests because they love God and truly believe in their vows and what they preach.... Unfortunately, just like with everything else, only the BAD hits the media and makes it sound as though ALL priests have sex with Nun's or little boys. All the GOOD that they do and ways that the rest of the priest's help the world, is kept quiet except to those they have helped. I have found this everywhere and in every circumstance, be it work, my religion, or with friends and people I have come to meet.. such a shame we are so salacious in our thirst for the vulgar!

Priests used to marry, but that was put a stop to.
only a few are called to be celibate, Paul was, but i wonder if that was after he had a family.
Celibacy is not for the faint of heart. Priests and nuns should marry if they wish to. God does not call us to sacrifice everything to Him. If He calls you to be celibate, it will not be an issue. If the priests and nuns need to engage in sexual activities, then leave the Catholic church and work with another religion that allows one to marry.

i think of Catholic doctrine and traditions are finished of errors, yet i do no longer think of that's a cult. of course, many Protestants have a topic with Catholic doctrine and traditions, or the Protestant Reformation does not have surpassed off. it particularly is the place we get the identify "Protestant" from. The bible the Catholic church makes use of has a number of books that are no longer interior the canon, and the Protestants have not got them of their bibles. Many doctrinal teachings and traditions of Catholicism come from those books. i've got not got a topic with clergymen and nuns, yet i do no longer' have self belief it is commanded that to be a instructor or preacher demands one's celibacy.

I've read in books that the earth is sitting on a giant turtle, too. There are many things in 'books.' But the real question is: which sexual perversion do you regularly practice that you hate the Catholic Church? You can tell us, no one knows who you are. I've read in 'books' that that is true.

This is an anti-Catholic rumor that was started by people who were troubled by the vows of celibacy. It's probably happened on occasion (they are human), but I sincerely doubt it's a regular occurrence.

I've read in books that aliens will abduct you in two days. Is this true?
In other words, don't be so gullible.
