Why would the USA want to take the Philippines back after we gave them independence fifty years ago?

The Philippines is NOT under American Government now or Ever will.
During WWII, Japan invade the Philippines, the US army was sent there enlisted the Phiippinos into the army to fight the Japanese. There were rewards for joining the america army.
After the war the Philippine felt that they should get more for fighting. They should have gotten something from their own government, but nothing was giving to them, so the US had to make good on their promises.
Right now, I think the old timers are still looking for something from the US government.

thank God it didn't happen. there is absolutely no advantage for filipinos to be governed by the US. all advantages will be for them, not for us. had we become a US state (as what some filipinos wanted before), we probably would have suffered the same fate as the native american indians.
